MQM Canada (GTA) organizes Cyber Revolution Seminar and The 34th Anniversary celebrations of APMSO
MQM Canada GTA-Toronto Chapter in collaboration with IT Wing of MQM Canada organized 34th Foundation Day
celebrations of APMSO and 3rd successful cyber revolution seminar on the topic of “Cyber Revolution” in
order to create general public awareness about the importance of social media and its use in the daily life.
The MQM considers it of paramount importance to adopt modern technologies in order to give impetus to progress
and development. These seminars will help overseas Pakistani community specially youth in understanding the
importance of social media and its effective role for building a better Pakistan.
The program was held in a local community centre
in the eastern part of GTA. Event was largely attended by
of Markham and surrounding areas while a large number of men, women, youth and students belong to Pakistani
community made the event one of the
most successful community based programs of the
city of Markham. The Central Organizer of MQM
Canada Iqbal Qamar, Joint Central Organizer Asif Qazi, Members of Central Organizing Committee, office bearers,
MQM workers and supporters were also present at this informative and celebratory occasion.
Addressing to the gathering, The Central Organizer of MQM Canada, Iqbal Qamar congratulated MQM chief Altaf Hussain,
all workers, supporters and leadership of MQM on the 34th Anniversary Celebrations of APMSO. In his
address, Mr. Qamar said that MQM has the vision and policy to transform the country into shinning Pakistan. He said that
the history of MQM has showed that MQM is the only political movement in Pakistan which is working for the oppressed people
in the country. MQM’s sacrifices and the morale strength of it workers have proved that they can’t be crushed through bribes
and state operations. He further said that the journey of struggle is successful if we keep moving forward with the vision of
Quaid e Thereek Altaf Hussain. He also prayed in the end for the martyrs and for the long life of founder leader MQM Altaf Hussain.
Iqbal Qamar also highlighted the history of revolutionary movements and described how social media had played a critical role in
fanning the flames of revolution once they were lit. He further said that our youth has to come out and use effective tools of social
media to raise their voices against injustice and discrimination.
Incharge GTA Chapter Fahad Khanzada said that APMSO and MQM has made historical era of achievements in a very short passage of
time and he further urged youth to come forward and play there vital role by showing their presence on social media.
Earlier program started with the recitation of holy verses of Quran. Incharge MQM Toronto Chapter, Syed Ali Abid in his welcoming notes
thanked the guests for attending the program in such a large number and explained the main concept and format of the seminar and celebration.
Kainat Sheikh emceed the conference and provided useful information on each appearance while Israr Saeed and Usman Shaikh shed light on
the history of the struggle of MQM and APMSO.
Member MQM Canada IT Wing, Kamran Hussain delivered a detailed presentation on the importance of social media and its impact on global
politics and that how we can use it for building a better Pakistan while living abroad. Members MQM Canada youth wing Annam Israr, Daniyal
kaimkhani and Farjad Abbas delivered brief presentations on understanding with majour social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube
and Blogging. Three high-tech computer stations were setup in the hall where volunteers of youth wing were present to assisted participants
in creating IDs. They also provided required technical help during the hands-on sessions.
In conclusion of the program a prayer led by Central Organizer MQM Canada Iqbal Qamar was offered for the safety of Pakistan. Light musical
program followed by Cake cutting ceremony entertained the audience while they were enjoying with delicious Pakistani cuisine and desert.
